The contaminated waste piled high in a field near Kidlington is now washing into River Cherwell. In the last 48 hours, the water level has risen 4+ feet and is lapping against the illegal dump.

We stand on the edge of an environmental disaster. We need urgent action from the Environment Agency.

Keir Starmer must hold firm and back the BBC. Important to note this is another example of Trump seeking personal gain from public office. His Presidency is characterised by blurring the two. We must heed the warning and take steps to stop the same happening here.
This is Keir Starmer’s moment to stand up for Britain and call on Trump to drop his ludicrous lawsuit against the BBC.

The Prime Minister has spent months cosying up to Trump. If he can’t stop him from attacking one of our most precious institutions, what was it all for?

The huge pile of illegally dumped waste by the A34 in Kidlington is utterly shocking.

Yesterday a Govt Minister agreed to meet me, I will ask her to step in to remove this terrifying environmental risk.

I’ve also raised this as an urgent matter with the Chief Exec of the Environment Agency.

Iran’s cowardly and extortionate regime will take any opportunity to level trumped up charges against Brits.

The Foreign Secretary must summon the Iranian ambassador and make clear the UK sanction those responsible unless the Foremans are released immediately.

Today I was honoured to take part in Woodstock’s Remembrance Day ceremony.

In solidarity with today’s service personnel, people came together in villages and towns across Bicester and Woodstock to pay respect to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. We will remember them.

Pleased to successfully vote against Nigel Farage’s Bill to pull Britain out of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The ECHR reflects British values of fairness and decency - not something to be discarded for political headlines.
Liberal Democrat MPs just defeated Nigel Farage’s Bill in Parliament to tear up people’s rights and withdraw from the ECHR.

Farage wants to do away with the Britain Churchill built and turn it into Trump's America. We won't let him.

In the midst of devastation and death, communities cling to the ceasefire.
This is a time for cool heads and strong words. UK Ministers must exert all influence possible on the US to restrain Netanyahu and uphold a process that, while imperfect, is a start to peace.

Labour seems to be working hand in glove with Oxford City Council to force a “Greater Oxford” on residents.

People want one fair, county-wide unitary, not to be swallowed by the city.

Local government reform should be with communities, not done to them.

We are a diverse nation. People of different colours and backgrounds are proud to be British and contribute hugely to our communities. This casual racism from Reform UK discriminates and drives division. As liberals, we will stand up to it.

The way the Conservatives implemented Brexit has done great damage to our economy - costing manufacturers and farmers dearly in red tape and lost exports while denying a whole generation of young Brits the chance to work, study and live in the EU.

15 months in, Labour need to step up and fix this.
The Tories can shout at me all they like, but the truth is their Brexit deal it is hurting our country and Labour won’t do anything about it.

Today I urged the Prime Minister to actually fix it.

Victims of domestic abuse deserve real protection, not promises.

The Government must ensure it properly funds probation services and electronic tagging to keep survivors safe after perpetrators are released.

The best thing about my job is meeting more people from across our area. This Saturday I will be at Kidlington Library 11.30-13.00.

This is a drop-in, so there is no need to book, just come along to say hello or if there's something you'd like my help with my team and I will do our best.

We cannot allow Gaza's fragile ceasefire to falter. All sides must fulfil their obligations. The Hamas terrorists must immediately retrieve and release all hostage bodies. The Israeli Government must allow the immediate and unimpeded flow of long-overdue aid into Gaza.

It’s good to see the PM finally listening to Liberal Democrat calls to seize the billions in frozen Russian assets tied up here in the UK to help arm Ukraine.

This must now happen rapidly. With our European allies we must use these assets to strengthen Ukraine’s hand and ramp up pressure on Putin.

Three big Lib Dem wins in this week's by-elections.

Last night in Mel Stride's Devon constituency, Liberal Democrats GAINED a seat from the Conservatives - the Conservatives dropped to just 10% of the vote.

And two great wins by our teams in Bath and Hampshire.

We welcome the prospect of a ceasefire. The people of Gaza and the hostages and their families have suffered far too much already.

The UK must now redouble efforts to ensure Gaza is flooded with aid and that pressure is maintained for a just peace based on the conditions for a two-state solution.

News of a ceasefire deal in Gaza brings real hope.

The UK and our allies must do all we can to get the hostages home, get aid in to starving people, and finally end this horrific violence.

This must be the first step towards a two-state solution and a lasting peace.

Today, I am remembering 7 October 2023 and thinking of all those whose lives have been changed forever by the events of that day. Today, more than ever, I am praying for a ceasefire, for the return of the hostages and for aid to flood into Gaza. 1/3

People spreading antisemitic hate and inciting violence against Jews are getting away with it.

We fear the government’s approach will do nothing to tackle that while undermining the fundamental right to peaceful protest.

This attack on this holy day is horrific. I stand shoulder to shoulder with the British Jewish community, and condemn all acts of anti-semitism. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
Horrified and appalled by the attack outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

My thoughts are with the victims, our brave emergency services and the entire Jewish community.

Important that we seize this moment to press for peace. The Trump Plan is neither perfect nor comprehensive but it has broad support and is the best chance in a long time for a ceasefire in Gaza. UK should use all its influence to get Hamas to sign up.
I've written to Keir Starmer, urging him to apply more pressure on Hamas to get them to agree to a ceasefire.

With the renewed hope of this latest peace proposal, we cannot allow Hamas to block the peace, dignity and security which both Israelis and Palestinians deserve.
