I asked ESPN Research and they asked Elias Sports Bureau and they looked back as far as they could (to 1978) and it would appear Jalen Hurts is the first player to ever commit two turnovers in one play. Isn't history beautiful?

California, California
The hills send back the cry
We’re out to do or die
California, California
We’ll win the game or know the reason why
And when the game is over
We will buy a keg of booze
And we’ll drink to California
Til we wobble in our shoes

North Texas is ranked in the AP Poll for the first time since 1959, snapping the longest active streak between poll appearances among FBS teams.

That now falls to New Mexico State, last ranked in 1960. Then Rice, last in 1961.

Black American soldiers literally dug these WWII graves. Traumatic. To acknowledge that fact at a cemetery they helped construct is something the Heritage Foundation cannot accept. As Veterans Day approaches, never forget that this country both compels and disrespects Black military service. Always.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Okay, as near as I can tell, this will be the first time since 1901 or 1902 since the Dodgers and Giants were tied in their regular season series.
folks, I am feeling some kind of way about this going away. The Giants have NEVER trailed in this head-to-head.

Careful polling shows that Americans overwhelmingly reject political violence - see e.g. brightlinewatch.org/tempered-exp..., brightlinewatch.org/accelerated-..., and www.pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1....

Unfortunately, it only takes one person with a gun to create a tragedy like what've seen today.

When a right-wing man murdered Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota, progressives asked MAGA to tone down the rhetoric to prevent more violence. Within hours of Kirk’s murder, motive still unknown, the right is demanding that the government wage a campaign of violence against their enemies.

Will be hard to explain in the future that the US government went antivax, causing a lot of avoidable suffering and death, not in response to any negative incident with vaccines, but to the biggest, fastest, most successful, most impressive vaccine rollout in history.

We were told it couldn't happen here, and then we were told when it did happen here there would be a huge outcry, and instead, it's happening here and our institutions and elites are trying their best to downplay it and describe it in their most careful inside-voice tones.

Another thing that needs a spotlight: that the antivax rhetoric & conspiracy theories about the CDC (and covid vaccines) were started by the crackpot profiteer who is now Secretary of HHS and his propaganda org, Children’s Health Defense
Feel like this needs a spotlight: employees were told that the shooting at CDC, which left an officer dead and buildings riddled with bullets, was targeted at agency, @lenasun.bsky.social, @laurenweberhp.bsky.social and @tobiaraji.bsky.social report

We've become so accustomed to lawbreaking that this probably won't ripple much, but it is important not to forget that firing the IRS Commissioner for refusing to break the law--if that's in fact what happened here--would and should prompt immediate articles of impeachment in any other presidency.
