Labour would do well to heed the words of Franklin Roosevelt:

"True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made."

Liberal democracy is at a crossroads; more of the same won't cut it

I think a combination of Blue Labour hostility to the EU, fear of Reform, and drinking the deregulation kool-aid is why the obvious step of alignment is not being taken. Shows the limits of growth as a priority.

Under-22s with long-term illnesses or disabilities will no longer be able to claim health top-up on universal credit under UK govt plans.

66,000 18 to 21-year-olds will lose it.

People can't easily see GP, dentist, get access to hospital but will lose benefit.

This is reckless and brutal.
Under-22s will not get incapacity benefits under welfare shake-up
The move comes as part of an overhaul of the welfare system as the UK's benefits bill rises.

There is never any mention as to why there are more people unable to work since 2020.
Only “this is unsustainable”.

£120bn Energy Company profits, quadruple what they were before 2021.

Exactly this.

Just 2% of Musk's wealth could feed the very poorest and most desperate people in the world.

He could use his money to do extraordinary things - and could go down in history as a hero.

Instead he has deliberately chosen to be an evil, villainous dick
Imagine you were the richest man in the world. You could have anything you wanted, go anywhere you wished, do whatever took you fancy. How would you spend your weekend? Depriving the poorest people in the world of food and healthcare and boasting about it?
