The course I teach about terrorism was created in the aftermath of 9/11. The students I had in world history that year had lots of questions. So did I. None of us had answers. I went to my admin and told them I wanted to teach a course that would try to answer those questions 1/

Every race. It’s basically been every race.

Governors. Mayors. Long-held GOP dog-catchers. School boards. Water boards. Flipped a dungeon master in a rural Iowa D&D club. State senators. State reps. A janitor in Duluth. State justices. Three GOP Uber drivers.

Just everything.

Also, MLB dot TV is 3 for 3 in not starting games on time to start the season, at least on my Roku TV. That's not good. If anyone else is having these issues, the number is (866) 244-2291, call or text.

This is a pretty idiotic take. It ignores the fact that players in other teams have messed with similar bats over the last year or so.

New York Yankees' Torpedo Bats Should Be Banned From Baseball | Deadspin.com
The Yankees' controversial "torpedo" bats are dominating early in 2025, but their custom design raises fairness concerns for MLB. Should they be banned?

Yeah. I know Ireland isn't Italy, but Ireland is going to have to show up for this one.

Celebrating Ireland's win today in the Six Nations with a drop of the craythur.

Ireland very fortunate to not lose an obvious trap match in Wales. Gotta think they'll have to play much better than they have thus far in the Six Nations to beat France.

I wonder how much today tipped toward who the Yankees want to win the position races. Nice to see Goldschmidt golf one for a double. Fingers crossed he'll be better than the last two years of Yankees at first.

Jeffries on GOP "bait & switch": "Part 1, talk about lowering the high cost of living but do nothing about it. Part 2, enact massive tax cuts for billionaires that will do nothing to improve the quality of life of everyday Americans. Part 3, stick working Americans with the bill for those tax cuts"

Sitting down to compose a hopeful message for 2025 is a tough ask given the year we’ve just had. Even glib sentiments are hard to come by. The defeat of pro-democracy forces in the US presidential election still weighs like a heavy anchor on my attempts to move on. 1/11

Student created 6 journals of 10 stories depicting children and terrorism, based on research S did. Some depict the student as a participant, others as a bystander. Stories were set in a variety of countries & included a five page write up connecting research to choices made in creating the stories.

Student made a file box of artifacts to highlight anti-Muslim violence that impacted the Sikh community after OKC and 9/11. S wrote a statement explaining the objects and how they connect to research done. "The box had been shoved into a corner and had a lid put on it, like the stories inside."

Student created this original piece symbolizing an extremist struggling with psych issues. We don't know who broke the glass or why. She wrote a six page explanation of the choices she made in this piece and connected them to her research.

Adding Fried is a good first step for the Yankees. Emphasis on "first".

I can't remember whose post on the hellsite a few years ago convinced me to try an "unessay" project in my terrorism course. I wish I did. I'd like to give them a big thank you (and hug, if they were ok with that).

I'm of two minds about the Soto signing. One the one side is this: www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/jua...
Juan Soto rejected the Yankees for the Mets, and it's a damning indictment of MLB's supposed marquee franchise
The Yankees offered Juan Soto $760 million, and he turned them down for $765 million from the Mets
