Devastating for Gazans. Also has a chilling effect on donations to these NGO agencies. Why?
Humanitarian aid workers are calling out Israel's decision to suspend dozens of aid groups' operating licenses in Gaza and the West Bank over alleged ties to Hamas. https://www.democracynow.org/2025/12/31/gaza

We can only hope that Max is right. Still, it feels like skating on thin ice. What will Smith do when she realizes the end game?
1. Many Canadians, including me, are questioning Carney’s commitment to #ClimateAction.
2. Max knows what he’s talking about.
3. Yes Carney should be communicating better. He may also be much more focussed on results than looking good. That’s how non-politician experts think.
4. Let’s keep watching.
Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Remember when people thought he wasn't good at politics? www.nationalobserver.com/2025/11/27/o...

#boycott2026G20 in Miami. If the US won't allow South Africa, a G20 country, to attend, then the US should not be considered a leader of anything.

Had an Instagram account for years. Too busy/lazy to post much. I'm a writer not a photographer for goodness sake. Decided to post a few pictures with comments on some events. Next thing I know, Meta informs me that due to Canadian regulations, Instagram will not post 'news content' in Canada. Damn.

Pete Hoekstra is fundamentally unfit to be ambassador. His record of race-baiting and extremist disinformation needs to be called out.
MAGA is actively undermining our nation. Canada needs to send him packing.

Instead of recognizing Israel’s genocide in Gaza & upholding its commitment to the International Humanitarian Law & Genocide Convention, Canada banned artists who speak the truth to the power & labeled them as “supporting terrorist organizations”.
Instead of sanctioning the actual terrorists.

One takeaway for Canadians watching what’s happening in the United States right now is that we need to put more pressure on governments / parties to strengthen democratic institutions and the fourth estate

You can also defend democracy by supporting the work of journalists and civil society groups
