Googled this crime and it mentioned the bbc2 series “indelible evidence” presented by ludovic Kennedy . Not thought about that in 30 odd years but it was brilliant
Just watched “manhunt- chasing the fox” about the rapist/burglar who terrorised the Home Counties in 1984. And I’ve always remembered these crimes. I would have been 11 and remember reading about it in the paper and being terrified. Same as I was over the Yorkshire ripper .

Took the museum and it was shut , took them the fair and it was shite. Took them to byrnes chippy and it made up for the rest. Ate it by the river and the baby announced he’s now a “certified boat spotter “
