The sort of radio light we see from Jupiter is produced by smaller (and much more common) dwarf stars, and is much more luminous; we can detect it from stars hundreds of light-years away!

Should probably caveat this before the heliophysicists come got me. Our Sun is also a source of radio light, but sun-like radio emission is generally too faint for us to see more than a few light-years away.
Much of what we understand about radio-wavelength light from stars is based on observations of Jupiter and studies of its magnetic field.

Kinda why I yell random things into the phone like “no I won’t have sex with you” when I get the scam Medicare open enrollment calls. It trips up the system and causes the AI system to hang up.

It needs to be clear that this isn't going to stop them from taking your data, they get it straight from the firehose before blocks can be applied, but it will make their experience on this site unpleasant if enough people block them

As a disabled web accessibility practitioner. This pisses me off. Extremely.

GENERATIVE AI DOES NOT AND CANNOT EVER REPRESENT DISABLED PEOPLE.

Just fucking hire disabled people like me who know what they're doing.

Believing AI over disabled people is ABLEISM and DEHUMANIZING. For fucks sake.

Here Keith is saying that "it makes no sense to have a Palestinian state. It's not going to happen."

So this isn't the US "building a new passenger train line" for Peru, but them selling old retired diesel trains... In a deal 500 times smaller than the one made by China.

BRI vs Barebones Railway Initiative? 😏

Anyways goes to illustrate once more how the U.S. still has zero response to the BRI...

Here is where it gets really funny, when you check the details of this "new passenger train line", this is in fact Caltrain (the commuter rail line in California) selling its retired diesel fleet to Lima for $6.3 million (src: sfgate.com/travel/artic...).

This is hilarious!

As everyone knows, China inaugurate 3 days ago a new $3.5 billion megaport in Peru.

Blinken, obviously attempting to show that the US wouldn't be outdone, announced the next day that "the US will support the city of Lima in building a new passenger train line" 👇
