Why talk so much about bike infrastructure? Simple: we use it every day and it makes our lives better.

If our city didn’t have it, our lives would be worse. We’d either spend more money or have less mobility. We’d be less active and healthy.

More people should be this lucky.

Researchers at Rutgers found that installing bike lanes at intersections can reduce right hook crashes by slowing down drivers. Not a surprising result, and it is yet more data in support of delineated bike lanes vs. painted ones.

Efficient driving makes sense on highways and circulation roads. But in city centers, car infrastructure consumes valuable space that could better serve local residents and businesses. By reclaiming these areas, we reduce barriers to movement and enhance access for everyone.
