all i want is to one day own a modest sized home in a walkable neighborhood and raise money for shelter animals. wear an outfit i like, walk to the grocery store, buy some nectarines, feed cats, and live in peace. just don't understand why achieving this is so hard

UCLA study: Fewer Californians live and work in the same city – dropping from 7.5% to 6.3% (2002-2015). Rising housing costs push workers away from jobs, forcing longer commutes. For families already struggling, this means less time at home and higher transportation costs.

Among my regular passengers on the 44 are two young boys who ride with their grandma from California and 6th Ave all the way to Silver and Palou. The older brother is possibly a 2nd grader. Last night as they were getting off my bus, he handed me this hand made envelope.

Mark Rylance’s measured performance as Thomas Cromwell makes you almost pity him and his ultimate fate. Season 2 of Wolf Hall also includes Damien Lewis giving one of the best portrayals of the mercurial Henry VIII. Worth watching! #pbs #masterpiece

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.

Newt Gingrich says the "McKinley Model" requires high tariffs over a three-year transition period.

Notable: Three years after the 1890 McKinley tariff, the economy had fallen into a severe depression. The GDP shrank by 10% and unemployment hit 18%. Certainly not the economic model I'd be copying. 😳
