One of my favourite episodes of Radio 4's #Ramblings, ever!

Anjana's knowledge and passion for all things 'rock' are hugely inspiring, and this episode is an absolute delight. Listen again via link below, and follow Anjana here: @anjanakhatwa.bsky.social

Thank you so much for all the suggestions.... especially the ones that pointed out that whatever gadget I use will work better if it's T-shaped. So I'm going to try one of these. Fingers crossed 🤞

Has anyone with arthritis in their fingers tried using something like this? I'm struggling to open/shut my hot water bottle... so looking for something to make it easier.

Already have lots of advice for the arthritis itself, just need an easier-to-open hot water bottle, or a gadget to help!

My granddaughter, Arrietty (aged 10, and home schooled) has started coming to me this term for Nature Studies.

This Small Copper butterfly is from her nature journal.

Next week we’re studying Jays, and the role they play in the growth of Oak forests, so watch this space…

Please can anyone tell me what this is? Could it be an aquatic flatworm? I don’t think it’s a leech, but I really haven’t got a clue! Found on the underside of a leaf floating in our garden pond in Cornwall…

Just found a video I made a few years back about the #WildlifePond we created in our old garden, in Shaftesbury. It's not very long, and there's a beautiful Broad-bodied Chaser Dragonfly in it! May be of interest if you're thinking of creating a pond...

So depressing to read this. I literally don't understand why anyone would vote against such a mandate. What a betrayal...

BAD NEWS! Should the swift brick vote have taken place earlier today we would have won. Tories whipped YES but by the time of the vote, support had gone home just like 2 years ago. It is an AGONISING reality. Tell your MP & steve.reed.mp@parliament.uk what you think. GUTTED.

Just finished @drmjwarren.bsky.social's The Cuckoo's Lea and I absolutely LOVED it. In fact it's one of my favourite reads so far this year.

#Nature, #History, #birds, #language #landscape and more... woven together seamlessly, and so beautifully. Fascinating! I can't recommend it highly enough
