Thank you so much.

How adorable these are. Do they always grow on leaves?

I could tell from the animated conversations, Anjana. It was an absolute joy to listen to!

These all look brilliant… I especially like the oil filter remover!

I didn't know about the dock and sorrel either, Shakira! I learn something new every time one of my grandchildren come to me for Nature Studies...

This looks interesting, thank you :-)

Oh. Helen, I'm so very sorry to hear about your mum... I know from my own experience how terribly hard it is to work through such a loss. Sending you extra buckets full of love x

Unfortunately we don't have a microwave! Though I also need my hot water bottle for long distance journeys, so would still need to find a way to open it en-route...

Thank you. I was trying to avoid plastic, but needs must, so I'm going to try the first one.

It's such fun, Nic - and I learn so many new things myself whilst I'm 'teaching' her!
November 10, 2025 at 12:09 PM
Exactly that!

I was thinking the same. I've now found something more T-shaped, so hopefully that will be better.

It does help, if you can reach the stopper, but the neck of my current hot water bottle is too deep to be able to reach in with a screwdriver or skewer. Such a challenge.

Aah.... you too, Helen. It's so frustrating, isn't it?! I've just ordered one of these, so I'll let you know how it goes. I'll try a rubber jar opener, too, thank you!
All well otherwise... and I hope you are well too. Much love x

Haven't tried the wooden one Elizabeth, but I've just ordered one of these, which looks much easier to grip and turn - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/19776704...

I've used a screwdriver before, but my current hot water bottle lid is too far down the edge of the water bottle to get a screwdriver in. Thank you for the tapping idea though...

Someone else suggested that a T shape would be better. Thank you, Peg... that's what I'll look for next.

Thank you...
