A government-sanctioned "truth arbiter" will soon arrive at CBS. Their role will be to ensure that journalists do not criticize this Administration or express views that conflict with its agenda.

This is a betrayal—not just of journalistic independence, but of the public trust. 🧵

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social Trans folks are 1% of the population, but you think the imaginary fears of transphobes need to be "taken seriously"? Even if this weren't a pro-bigot stance (it is), we have real, existential problems in the US that need attn. You're not a serious candidate for any office.

i think it is hard for some people to really their heads around the reality that kennedy is staunchly anti-vaccine and thinks that people should suffer through disease and that those who die deserved it and that those who survive are a better order of human being

All the dire implications notwithstanding it is hilarious how evil this technology is. Billions of dollars spent on this greasy lying stupid thing that was literally built to replace people, and everyone that uses it gets weaker, lazier, dumber, and sadder for having done so. Well done all around.

Today I told a 100yo dog-loving hospice patient (who cannot have a dog in her care facility) about @weratedogs.com and 15outof10.org and she loved it. Next visit I think we'll read some posts and look at the dogs together 🩵 Thanks for doing what you do.

Wow—the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named after Raphael Lemkin, a Holocaust survivor who coined the term genocide) says plainly:

"No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits…IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU MUST USE IT."

"HISTORY WILL DETERMINE THE RECTITUDE OF YOUR ACTIONS."

I’m really gonna ask you please not to turn your nose up at the WSJ story and sneer that it’s a distraction.

These men harmed real people. They used their power and money to trap and abuse them.

That’s not a distraction, actually. That’s central to what matters.

I almost can't believe that Elon Musk's AI called for the extermination of the Jewish people yesterday, and today not a single Congressional Democrat announced they were leaving his media network.

A party that often claims to act against antisemitism didn't do jack shit about straight up Nazism.

it doesn't seem like too much to ask for at least a brief moratorium on "centrist" Dems knifing their own party members while Trump is attempting to pass the worst piece of legislation since the Fugitive Slave Act

Yeah sorry we’re not celebrating “Independence Day” while fundamental elements of our democracy like due process, free speech, and access to basic care are being gutted. That’s not freedom — that’s performative patriotism.

The way we speak about our Muslim and Arab siblings in moments like this matters deeply. Our critiques should be directed at systems, regimes, and destructive powers—not at entire communities. Don’t conflate the two.

Juneteenth didn’t end slavery. The 13th amendment abolished it—except as a punishment for crime. Slavery is still legal in this country. It just hides behind 20-foot prison fences.

Note the subject-object choice.

Who does what? The PROTESTS make people mad about Police Thingy.

It’s the protests’ fault.

That’s why people are mad.

It works on everyone’s subconscious level, I bet, even if you pay attention / have the analysis to see it consciously.

Pay attention.
Amazing how hard it is to write: “Police shoot at journalists.”

Well, I actually am a theologian and I have several things to say:

1) The First Amendment crucial to defend. Crucial. Emergency time.

2) "lo tignov" probably meant "do not steal PEOPLE," no kidnapping, ironic given ICE

and "don't covet" is probably

"don't exploit," so, again

Head Start supports over 40M American children each year, including thousands in Colorado. As we face a child care crisis, cutting Head Start would be devastating, especially for our rural communities.

With my CO colleagues, I’m urging President Trump to preserve funding for this crucial program.
If Trump ends Head Start, 11,000 of Colorado’s most vulnerable kids could lose vital early learning
Reports of the Trump administration targeting the decades-old early learning program has the Head Start community sounding the alarm

And no one, no one, should be traveling to the US if they can avoid it. No one.
