There’s a city of 237,000 refugees on the Chadian/sudanese border in Adre. The Sudan war is the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world right now. 150,000 dead and 12 million displaced. Chris Maddaloni and I spent a week in refugee camps in east Chad.

There's so many layers to this ...it's not only to question what is cheapest and most convenient but what are the long term costs of an Amazon monopoly and what are the values of that global giant?
I won't pretend that Amazon's launch of a .ie site is not a threat to many small (and medium sized) businesses here.

But if I could ask Irish people to do one thing - don't assume that whatever you're buying will always be cheaper there. A monopoly is in no one's interest. #speirgorm
