Mom. Avid reader. Runner. Canadian. And I have cats! (she/her) I watch way too much Bluey

I stand with Trans people, I see you and will fight beside you.
Toddler is deep in the Frosty stage. Today I got hit with a small face thoughtfully chin tapping while saying 'How about......FROSTY' like we haven't watched the original and sequel on repeat for days.

Butter tarts are a wonderful treat during the Christmas season.
Personally, I think they are the greatest Canadian treat (even with raisins).
These delectable treats have been name dropped in Canadian songs, TV and movies.
But what is their history?
This is the story.

In the weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump sparked a trade war with his punishing tariffs, Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada’s "old relationship" with the U.S. would be "over" soon — and now ...

I adored this show as a kid, it truly was groovy and weird in such a delightful way.
It was one of the most psychedelic, bizarre and beloved Canadian children's shows ever made.
Structured like a sketch comedy show around the comedic genius of Billy Van, it is well remembered even to this day.
This is the story of The Hilarious House of Frightenstein!

Mary Two-Axe Earley lost her Indigenous Status when she married a non-Indigenous man.
She saw the impact that had on other women like her.
So she decided she would do something about ending gender discrimination in the Indian Act.
This is her story.

It's 2025. You have no excuses anymore. If you promote, participate in, or consume anything related to Harry Potter, you are directly supporting genocidal efforts against transgender people and creating a police state for strict gender roles and presentations even for cisgender people.

As I sat at the roundabout waiting for my turn (I was perpendicular to the flow of traffic), I couldn't help but think there has to be an easier to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

Something that tells people when to stop and when to go. Maybe some sort of light system?

Mom hack: be prepared to switch breakfasts with your toddler.

I lost my yogurt and blueberry breakfast. Good thing I like toast I guess.

Someone left their 2 dogs in the car today while she went into the grocery store and bought fruit trays. And I'm the bad guy for waiting for her and saying 'hey, maybe don't do that'

How do people not get it yet?

@mark-carney.bsky.social Mr. Carney, I've been following the distressing news of the Madleen. Now is the time for Canada to take a stand and help this good Samaritan crew. We cannot let this kidnapping stand.

Had a negative experience at Toys R Us today (apparently I'm invisible and needed to get hit by a cart and have a kid elbow me but speaking up made me the bad person). I really dislike going out now.

I got spoiled on the ending of Lilo and Stitch, and glad I did. I wasn't going to see it anyways but now I know I won't even watch it on Disney+. I'll just watch the original instead.

Flexible/remote work is good, actually! When executives can’t make it work for their company, that’s a problem of leadership. Return to office mandates are about real estate costs and shitty bosses covering their asses - no matter what excuse they give. farmingdale-observer.com/2025/05/16/s...
Scientists have been studying remote work for four years and have reached a very clear conclusion: "Working from home makes us happier."
An Australian study, conducted over four years and starting before the pandemic, has come up with some enlightening conclusions about the impact of working from home. The researchers are unequivocal: ...
