Every time I see a video of someone standing up to ICE it has been women. Women are the ones stepping up to PROTECT those around them. And it makes me think about how evangelicals always claim it is men who do the Protecting. All that evangelical men protect is themselves and power.
a thin white woman in head to toe lululemon screaming at these thugs makes me think ICE has jumped the shark

The richest man in the world—who has now installed unqualified loyalists throughout the US government—is getting much of his information from far-right sources who present a world in which “Western Civilization” is in an existential struggle against Black and brown invaders.

Chicago, 2/8—anti-deportation protesters braved wintry weather for a rally followed by a march down 26th St. in La Villita. Activists credit a widespread Know Your Rights campaign for decreasing the number of encounters with ICE agents across the city and suburbs.

I'm working my way through Ecclesiastes this year. Today as I was reading I was thinking about the Spirit of Wisdom mentioned in Isaiah 11. I know there are plenty of things to be pressed and stressed about, but I feel the Lord calling his children to fix our eyes on something greater.

Sentencing Trump to an unconditional discharge means that yes, he can basically shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and get away with it

It means that-if you’re rich and powerful enough-you can get away with anything

It means the American justice system has utterly failed us

THAT’S what it means

Walked out of the gym today into the icy sunrise, feeling a bit "Olympic" (Cool Runnings ref). But I was also feeling a little bit defeated because I've been having trouble sticking to my calories.
Went home and created this to encourage myself and you, too!

Ecclesiastes 1:1-8

I think a lot of people treat bible reading like a self-help book, and I’ve been there before.

I guess the new slogan for the Washington Post ought to be:

“Newspapers die in cowardice.”
