“Premier Danielle Smith …have publicly warned that recall legislation should be used only in cases of serious misconduct or ethical breaches, not general political grievances.”

It’s your legislation. If that’s what you intended , you should have written it that way. Incompetent or sour grapes much?
There are multiple signature collecting events happening today, Nov. 15, in Airdrie and Calgary to recall Angela D. Pitt and Demetrios Nicolaides, respectively. Citizens of Airdrie-East and Calgary-Bow, visit Operation Totall Recall to learn more. #ableg #abpoli #yyc

Necessary but also good economics. The energy transition is in full swing. Look at investment capital in clean energy, rapidly rising and now double fossil fuel investments. It’s like hanging on to your landline or driving a horse & buggy

So the UCP believes in direct democracy if the there are guarantees of the required number of signatures? What kind of guarantee?
#ableg #abpoli
“Nolan Dyck, the United Conservative legislature member who put forward the reduced funding amount, said he didn’t think the government should provide more money to help McClure’s office handle the recalls, as there are no guarantees that either will get enough signatures.”
Wtf ?
The UCP enthusiastically passed recall legislation, but now that it is mostly being used against them, they are declining to fund it. #ableg

Recall Public funds to Private schools.

Only province in Canada who does this.
What school wouldn’t want an outdoor area like this.

Look , NDP were in power from 2015 to 2019. Inflation was low, interest rates were low. Inflation really picked up post COVID . This guy’s just an idiot obfuscator . Teachers and our students deserve limits to classroom size and complexity in our public system.

Spanky McGee has entered the teachers' strike chat.

As I said (and still stand by), the UCP - mainly Dani - is desperate to get this strike over and done with, mainly through a negotiated deal with a side of union busting.

She's losing big time votes in Calgary.

Anyone with any clue as to how expensive hospitalization costs , how expensive an ICU stay costs or how expensive a chronic illness like long Covid costs knows that a vaccination program is cost saving. And if the government had doubts wouldn’t it be better to commission a study ?

Introducing legislation to force an agreement with teachers would mean invoking the not withstanding clause to suspend constitutionally protected rights of workers to free assembly. The clause has never been used this way before and would set a dangerous precedent.

Smith / #UCP: We can't afford another $2B over 4yrs.

Public - that's $500M / yr.

Smith / #UCP - So?

Public - You put $500M / yr into PRIVATE schools.

Smith/ #UCP - were hoping you wouldn't notice that.

We noticed. Put tax dollars into PUBLIC schools.

Yeah give a Nobel peace prize to a convicted rapist who’s never served time in jail .

What’s the point of making a cycling lane that just dead ends and forces cyclists into traffic? Cyclists and motorists are unprepared for the merge into traffic . Couldn’t make 2 more blocks of bike lane ? Why would it take up some parking? Dumb and dangerous.
Here’s the best example where 5 St SW protected cycle track was held back from even higher potential: Connecting to the Bow River Pathway System.

The two blocks between the Bow River and 3 Ave SW remain disconnected from 5 St SW Cycle Track to this day. 🤨

The downtown cycle track was supposed to connect to the Bow River Pathway. Our FOI request shows that plans had even been developed back in 2020, but then the project was shelved after Terry Wong became Ward 7’s councillor.

Removing bike lanes means people who are concerned with their safety on roads with cars start driving instead . Tell us again how this eases congestion 🤦‍♂️
Secondly , this is a decision for municipalities . Stay in your lane !
