First they came for my son, and I did not speak out
Because I was not my son
Then they came for my daughter, and I did not speak out
Because I was not my daughter
Then they came for my husband
And there was no one left
To make my sammiches
Not just my device mate

Americans have no idea what socialism means

In the civilized parts of the world it means people have the power to choose to not be screwed over by rapey, greedy corporate thugs. That’s it. That’s all it means

It was apparent from the start that the BBC resignations were due to an attack from the right, however it wasn’t clear just how deep it went. This reporting is critical for the future of journalism in the UK, and for our democracy.

There is little doubt that senior figures on the Right of the political spectrum in the UK are using Trump to undermine vital British national interests - and with Farage little more than a messenger boy for Trump.

A great day for the golden rule of political analysis: when the right wins it is a resounding ideological victory that humiliates the left and when the left wins it is a precarious fluke that will surely end up humiliating the left. Conservatives are power’s landlords and the left merely tenants

This is yet another example of how you beat the far right. By beating them, not trying to be them. By having your own agenda, not aping theirs. With courage and conviction - and humour - not fear and timidity.

Partly because so many formerly leftwing parties have turned to the right, there's a lot of confusion about what right and left mean in politics. I hope this helps:

The right defends economic power.

The left resists economic power.

Seems simple enough, but can somebody break it down for the Labour front bench? I think theres one too many syllables
Cut bills. Tax billionaires.

This morning the Chancellor spoke of difficult decisions for everyone but the ultra-rich.

It’s time to tackle the cost of living crisis, end child poverty and invest in our vital public services by taxing extreme wealth fairly.

Many people saying "that's not a ballroom Trumps building". No. No he's not. You know what that is? He's building the Federal Meme Reserve

Turned on Radio 4 specifically to listen to Today for news about hurricane Katrina, the most powerful storm ever to have hit Jamaica. It was the third story. Third! After two stories about... immigrants. Fuck the BBC and the Today editors in particular.

who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.

Theres no plan because RFK and all these ghouls are the most overpriveliged manbabies in history. They've never struggled or wanted for anything. Protected from their own inadequacy and bad decisions by privilege and mountains of money. The grotesque consequences of not holding power to account
I spend all this time trying to figure out what the master plan is, and it always hits me: nothing. Just conspiracy brain worms all the way down. And the most smug self-righteousness as Kennedy and cronies destroy over a century of concerted scientific effort and hard work.

The point about Reform councils failing to cut costs is that they believed their own propaganda that councils were wasting millions on diversity officers, printing leaflets in Bengali and Polish, so all they needed to do was cut those.

Its not so much that the Greens are stealing Labour's cheese, more that Labour have erected a trestle table at the front of their house with a pile of cheese and a sign saying "FREE CHEESE"

Guys, im not sure if anyone else has noticed, but I think that demolishing the White House may be symbolic of a wider assault on the US and her hallowed democratic institutions? Somebody should do a cartoon about it or something

We are living through one of the costs of Brexit; lack of institutional restraint leaves your laws prey to lunatic far right populism, in the form of both Reform and Tory policies on mass deportation of legal residents.

Q: Why are my electricity bills going up?

A: You are likely (a) in a region impacted by Trump tariffs and retaliatory price hikes in electricity from Canada, or (b) in a region subsidizing billionaire-owned data farms for AI or crypto mining.

It’s not because of immigrants or drag queens.
