The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

I see that CBS chose not to air this part. It probably explains much of what they did decide to air.

Demand: dedicated federal workers NEVER go without a paycheck (we have the means to pay them - this current process is purely cruel and unacceptable). But, if Congress fails to reach agreement every elected is fired at the end of that congressional session.

More than 47 million Americans — including one in five children — don’t have reliable, affordable access to nutritious food. And as the cost of living skyrockets, more families are depending on SNAP benefits, or food stamps, to put food on the table.

Today marks 30 days of the Republicans’ shutdown.

Now, 42 million Americans, including 3.5 million Texans, are at risk of losing access to SNAP.

Enough with the games. It’s time for them to show up and do their damn jobs.

Note that this is "A Statement by Prince Andrew" not a "A Statement by Andrew." He's not shedding that title. Just "The Duke of York," which was an honorary from mum.

So it's all a slap on the wrist for raping girls. He gets to keep the money, gets to keep being a Prince, and stays out of jail.

Swearing in isn’t some ceremony. You aren’t a member of Congress until it happens. He knows that.

No phones, no staff, nothing.

I had to escort her into the Capitol on Wed bc Capitol police must treat her as a public visitor until she’s sworn in. And solo visitors aren’t allowed during shutdown!
Johnson: "Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office. She should be working or in the district for her constituents" (Grijalva is not in fact a Rep. b/c Johnson refuses to seat her)
