my god these City of Yes concessions are getting worse. An absolute dereliction of duty by @council.nyc.gov. Political cowardice like this is why New York has been losing population, house seats, and electoral votes and will continue to do so unless we change course.

New York City is no longer a serious city. This is embarrassing and we're digging our grave for the next 2 decades.
Deal emerging on City of Yes, per source:
• Parking mandates will vary by 3 zones (exact areas TBD)
• Substantial carveouts for ADUs: banned in flood/coastal zones, & historic districts. Also banned in some low-density zoning districts: R1-2A, R2A & R3A.
• ADUs capped at 1 story

Instead of eliminating parking mandates in NYC, the City Council will change City of Yes to create 3 tiers w/ different parking levels, source says. (Confirming @smaldo.bsky.social)
