BREAKING

Dr. Jane Goodall has died. She was 91.

It is impossible to sum up the impact she has had on our world and on science in a social media post.

She lived a long and incredible life but I am devastated.

I keep thinking about what Michael Wolff said in his book about Giuliani: that once you lose the respect of people you always feared had disdain for you, you can really go to town on being what you previously thought of as your worst self, really roll in the shit and gulp it down smiling and free

The Universal Credit Bill has passed.

The Motion of Regret did not.

I am heartbroken.

We got powerful truths spoken in the Lords which may help later in legal and public fights.

But....

What is this thing called Labour. Not something I morally recognise

Not sure this is very ethical or sensible but to say you can ignore your care team and look for a job and they work into the community and EIS seems very wrong.

Starting July 25, Bluesky will require users in the UK to scan their face, upload an ID or verify their identity with a bankcard.

I realize that platforms feel they have no choice but to comply with the government surveillance schemes, but shocking nonetheless.

This is dystopian, & could lead to a situation where it’s almost impossible to get time off work if you’re seriously unwell & almost impossible to get disability benefits in the first place.

GPs will be ordered to stop handing out millions of “sick notes” that sign people off work and instead send them to job coaches or secure gym memberships.

I’m ashamed to live in a country that just passed a welfare bill condemning hundreds of thousands to deeper poverty and despair.

I’m ashamed of a Labour government that refused to work WITH disabled people to build a benefits system based on dignity, not punishment.

CONJECTURE:

So basically as we know the 4+ rule is dead.

The Timms review will be from August and take months.

That puts back any PIP changes at all from November 2026 to a later date.

Worse case scenario is late 2027 for BEGINNING PIP changes but would take ⏰ to roll out.
