OKAY YES—when I used to train new designers coming in, I would tell them a variation of this. Like you MUST not let your ego be tied to the work. It is tempting, but at the end of the day how well the work does/doesn’t do isn’t personal but you *will* take it personally if you don’t learn to let go.
Found this on the AO3 subreddit, and I'm about to let it change my whole life (or at least work really hard to internalize it wrt my writing).

Maybe my wishlist should be BUY MY BOOK (bc I published my 1st this September) but guess who is always forgetting I published a book? My memory is terrible, the brain fog is attacking me, and my time-blindness is out of control. I have no fucking clue what I did this year.

(Amazon KDP, for context, is generally 35% and 70% respectively)
