This is an INSANE decision by the E.U.

“By signing up to mutual recognition of vehicle standards with the U.S., the E.U. has waved the white flag on road safety. This is not a technical detail – it is a political choice that puts trade convenience ahead of saving lives.”

This will kill people.

🧵Important Statistical Reminder:

Once fascists win power democratically, they have never been removed democratically.

Not once.

Ever.

"Newsom’s threat to retaliate in kind is not a divisive attack on good governance. It is, instead, the only hope for democracy. Bipartisanship right now is appeasement. Democrats cannot and should not hide behind neutrality and fairness as MAGA incinerates the remaining tatters of our republic."

Another way the Trump administration is trying to kill people worldwide.
Trump wants more American pick-ups in Tokyo and London. That may be a hard sell
Donald Trump is right that Japan and Europe buy few American-made cars - but it has little to do with trade barriers. From Tokyo to London, many consumers see Detroit's offerings as simply too big and too gas-guzzling.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

Europeans in winter: "American houses are crap lol wtf who makes houses out of wood?!??"

Europeans in summer: "WHY DOES MY HOUSE TAKE 3 DAYS TO COOL DOWN AFTER A HEATWAVE"

Maybe thermal mass (aka a bunch of hot bricks you need to wait to cool down) isn't actually a good thing.

But airco is the only immediate solution to these mass casualty events. There is so much European superstition against airco, it is weird.

Plant trees and new road surfacing, sure but not short term solutions.

And it is a lot of preventable deaths.

All 8 women, plus a woman from Nicaragua were flown back to the US in the middle of the night.

They were flown back on Bukele's order and on a U.S. plane.

Trump and the DOJ know it.

They can bring back Garcia, too.
