I’d have thought it would’ve been a bigger number.
This is what is happening.
We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

The Brits aren’t alone I expect.
British people's trust in the United States has collapsed in the year since Donald Trump took office, new research has found.

You must be a bit shit if Jeffry Archer calls you out.
Donald Trump has been branded "completely mad" by Tory grandee Jeffrey Archer, who has accused the US President of acting like a child since taking office.

One wonder how long it’ll be before an American oligarch commits suicide by jumping out of a window?

Given the way America is heading I can’t be long now.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor appeared to rebuke calls to target “hate speech” in an apparent swipe at Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“Every time I listen to a lawyer-trained representative saying we should criminalize free speech in some way, I think to myself, that law school failed,” said Sotomayor.

So if smart people don't like Trump, does this mean dumb people do? I'm not sure that it was a smart thing to say, but I'm sure it won't impact how his base perceives him.

It’s interesting how people’s views change when something impacts them or someone they respect.
Suddenly "hate speech" is bad. Suddenly "dehumanizing" people is bad. Suddenly "cancel culture" is good. Suddenly words have consequences.

I agree, the facts don’t support this claim as far as I can see.
This is just objectively the exact opposite of the truth. Every serious effort to actually quantify the ideological valence of political violence has found the reverse of what Vance claims.
Vance: “People on the left are much likelier to defend and celebrate political violence. This is not a both sides problem. If both sides have a problem, then one side has a much bigger and malignant problem and that is the truth.”
