I was a medium early adopter and supporter of electric vehicles, but I was 10 plus years behind Quentin Willson.
Here he is reviewing the General Motors EV1 in 1997! Before it was withdrawn and crushed and replaced with the civilian Hummer. Oh happy days.

Just starting to prep for Everything Electric Melbourne. Not sure how we are going to cram everything in. I think it’s going to be quite an impressive weekend.
This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Melbourne show grounds.

It is with shock and genuine sadness that I learn of the passing of my good friend, long time colleage and just a really kind man, Quentin Willson. He will be sorely missed by many who knew and worked with him.

I've scribbled something about the potential 3p per mile electric vehicle charge in the UK.

What a refreshing moment, Mamdani winds Mayoral race for NYC. At last, some news from America that isn't another example of deep insanity.

Hang on. Let me check what year it is. Oh yes. 2025. Imagine being responsible for a headline like this.
On the other hand. Who needs petrol hybrids.

Of course it doesn't always produce this much, but imagine how much gas we are NOT burning right now. (Wind has been generating over 50% of all our electricity for the past 3 days

I attended the UK launch of the Geely X5 this evening. Huge event, 100's in attendance,
Another enormous Chinese brand (they have sold 10 million cars so far) coming to Europe. If this car was made in Europe it would probably cost £25k more. #awks

By every metric, the industry is in deep trouble — and none of it has anything to do with future emission rules or an engine ban a decade away.
In fact, the future of cars is electric - not because of Brussels regulation, but because EVs will soon be much cheaper to make and run.

I was ten when this horrific disaster happened. Being a school child at the time meant we could easily imagine the horror. Such a shocking calamity very much connected to managing coal extraction.
On 21st of October 1966, 116 children and 28 adults were killed in the horrific Aberfan disaster, caused by the failure of the National Coal Board.
Today, we remember those who lost their lives and stand with the community of Aberfan now and always.
Never again.

It’s is critically important to understand that the fossil fuel lobby have limitless money, time and resources to sway any government. They really are in power until we massively reduce how much of their products we all buy.

The analysis found that fossil fuel lobbyists were present at 48% more ministerial meetings during Labour’s first year in power than under the Conservatives in 2023.
