For my course on Conflict and Representation in the EU, I made an interactive Shiny app that plots CHES party positions, for all countries, years (1999-2024) and (most) dimensions in the dataset. Enjoy!

And it may seem like not a big deal. But while *you* are great people who accept queer kids, that's not as common as you'd hope.

New research shows only half of gay or lesbian people have parents who accept them.

Only 31% of trans people have parents that do.

Far-right grifters are determining the “reality”’of the most powerful man in the world. What could go wrong? 🤷‍♂️
Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

The success of the far right is not only measured in votes and seats but in its impact on rhetoric, policy and ideology. The fact that a (nominally) social democratic head of government with a huge majority choses to say and do this is maybe the biggest success of the far right in Europe yet.

For the Guardian, @turnbulldugarte.com and I discuss our research that clearly shows one thing: Labour's anti-immigration strategy will only strengthen Reform and weaken its own electoral prospects. It won't win voters back but ultimately normalizes the far right

Our research makes it clear: by capitulating to the right, Labour is driving voters to Reform UK | Tarik Abou-Chadi and Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte
Mimicking Farage on immigration is senseless. Labour voters feel betrayed; anti-immigration voters see through the ruse, say academics Tarik Abou-Chadi and Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte

I have had death threats for my work on trans rights. I have been stalked. I have had people try and have me thrown out of my University. I am by no means alone, and lots of trans-inclusive academics have spoken publicly about the violence and harassment they face. But no mention of that here.

Surprise surprise. A week after Sarah McBride gives cover fire for throwing trans people under the bus, some Dems are privately indicating they’ll capitulate on trans youth healthcare and citing the pseudoscientific Cass Report literally drafted in consultation with hate groups.

Asking for a bit of help for my research. Does someone here know a comprehensive database of anti-LGBTQ+ state bills in the US from around 2012? Especially if they categorise by State and status of the bill.

I was able to find some from 2020 but mostly reports and articles before that.
