'We can't be bullied': How Trump and the GOP's redistricting push in Indiana backfired
Aggressive tactics employed by Trump and his allies did not sit well with state lawmakers, who delivered a major political blow to national Republicans ahead of the midterms.

Good God
As someone who has lived in nearly half a dozen western democracies. None of the other OECD countries have these problems. Coalition governments and accountability to voters are the way everybody else prevents government abuse. The US is unique in government wanting to abuse some of it's citizens.

the defensiveness and incredulity of a good chunk of the commentary class toward arguments about trump’s racism is, imho, downstream of the same impulse behind the endless trump voter safaris and self-flagellation about being out of touch with the heartland
Thinking back to how people were "hysterical" for calling trump white supremacist and now he's doing nordic theory on the campaign trail

something you have to understand about Trump & his weird comments about the economy is that the dude hasn't paid for anything like a normal person in decades - never pumps gas, never buys groceries - so he's completely & utterly out of touch with what life is like for most of us
December 9, 2025 at 5:46 PM
I just got back from the grocery store and eggs are $5.29 a doz. The coffee I used to buy for $8.99 is now $25.99. This man is clueless (and obviously doesn't care enough to educate himself).
Q: "What grade would you give the economy?"

Trump: "A + + + +"

Q: "Are you still worried about the economy?"

Trump: "Prices are coming down substantially…Prices are all coming down. It's been 10 months, it's amazing what we've done."

BREAKING: We’re suing the Trump administration to demand they release the secret memo they claim justifies their illegal strikes on civilians at sea.

Transparency must come immediately — while there’s still an opportunity to stop this cruel and unconstitutional bombing campaign.

the birthright clause was not just written to wipe dred scott off of the books, it was written to repudiate the *idea* behind dred scott, you might say the larger *ideological project* of dred scott. and the whole of section 1 of the 14th amendment is a constitutional statement of political equality

This is so racist it needs a new category of racism to describe it but it's also stupid and pointless. You simply cannot purge the celebration of Black people and their accomplishments from this country in favor of celebrations of a dying pedophile. It's literally not a thing he's capable of doing.
Donald Trump just removed Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth from the list of free entry days at national parks.

They are being replaced with Trump’s birthday.

#OTD in 1965 the 13th Amendment ended slavery, but with a loophole; slavery was allowed as punishment for a crime. This marked the beginning of mass incarceration and the systemic oppression of Black people that persists today. Understanding this history is crucial to dismantling the system.

Also notable that the presence of drugs was not substantiated by any evidence and the so-called ‘narco terrorists’ were not formally charged, indicted, or tried. In other words, no due process. No accountability. It’s murder.

Notable that the Pentagon carried out this strike on the same day that Adm. Bradley appeared before members of Congress to defend the Sep. 2 strike.
