The Tapper/Cassidy interview just reminds me that the role of these cable/weekly news shows is not to inform the public or hold officials accountable.
It's to give them a platform to lie and obfuscate the truth, and if they do a good enough job, then the anchors move on, like it's a game.

The way for Dems to deal with MTG is not to recruit her as a Democrat. They should be challenging her to rise above partisanship and vote for legislation that helps all Americans, regardless if it's from Democrats or Republicans. Hold her feet to fire and make her prove she's turned over a new leaf

I can see her as someone who could make a pivot bc she realizes the rightwing talking points don't jibe with their stated purpose, and she either leaves politics or goes independent.

Like why are we outsourcing prison management so that a private company can run a prison badly when we can just let the government run prisons badly and save money?

Yeah... we need a law that automatically makes all newspapers not-for-profit. We've seen what the for-profit model of news is doing and it's not benefitting anyone.

I bet if you offered a deal to the GOP that Dems would cede all coverage/investigation/prosecution of anything related to the Epstein files to Republicans in exchange for Republicans never mentioning trans people/what is a woman/bathroom bills/etc... most of them would take that deal in a heartbeat.
