So today I learned about Girl Scout Troop 6000, a Girl Scout troop entirely of girls living in NYC homeless shelters.
I also learned that you can buy all your Girl Scout cookies directly from them on-line.
Which I just did.

So today I learned about Girl Scout Troop 6000, a Girl Scout troop entirely of girls living in NYC homeless shelters.

Finished 4 out of 5 points in a chess tournament. 60+ in my section 900-1399 USCF rating range. Started with 2 draws and finished with three wins. I'm joking I went undefeated!* Some equalled me but never bested! Tied for 3rd in the section. #chess

My daughter is reading 1984 for school. We are treating it as a chance for 'family book club'. We just went through Winston's job of "correcting older media" and it reminded me so much of things said by the Trump administration. Sean Spicer's inauguration numbers sprang to mind immediately.

The past 2 days I've been watching the foreign language stuff on Netflix. The documentary on Angéle (Belgium pop singer), Nothing to Hide (French movie), and Framed:A Sicilian Murder Mystery (Italian comedy show). It is nice to step out of the Anglosphere for entertainment. Anyone got recs? #netflix

I was all excited to go to the US Grand Prix in Austin this year. I had so much fun last year, and we had better seats this year.

I was playing around with the Bing Chat GPT creative thing and asked for this prompt"Please draw a 1940s noir detective movie poster titled "Trouble on Olympus" with the gods Zeus, Poseidon, and the goddesses athena and aphrodite on it." Other than word errors, I was pretty impressed.

Yesterday the Qatar Grand Prix was an interesting race, but I worry about the safety conditions they raced under. Multiple drivers complaining about symptoms that sound like heat exhaustion. Not to mention the track grip issues with the sand. I'm glad no one got hurt. #F1

Had a good evening at the local #chess club. I went 4-0. First two games I had a few hundred Elo advantage so it was the a chainsaw. Second two were much closer and made me work for it. Regardless 1st place in my section for Rapid chess.
