People who advocate for electing the president by popular really are saying that federalism shouldn't matter - largely because they like the way that big cities would control elections. (For now.) This is dumb, especially now, when federalism has been a godsend.
A thread.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

Infectious disease scientists are amazing humans!!
THIS IS HUGE! Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have developed an antiviral chewing gum that may help reduce the spread of viruses. In lab studies, it cut down viral loads of two herpes simplex viruses (HSV-1 and HSV-2) and two influenza A strains (H1N1 and H3N2) by more than 95%. 🧪🧵⬇️

He says here that "he'll act quickly to correct mistakes." Has he publicly corrected his 'condoms for Gaza' mistake? Apologized? How about Trump seated a few feet away, who claimed Hamas made bombs from US condoms? Any correction? Apology?

Of course not.

These people lie & lie & lie & lie.

Grants from the National Institutes of Health come with additional money for overhead. Proposed funding cuts would leave colleges with large budget gaps.

This language describes a coup. You have to be a government employee, subject to the rules & procedures that bind gov employees, to do this kind of work. This is a blatant abuse of the public trust by the Trump administration, a true 5-alarm fire. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

The thing to understand about Trump is like in his first term, he doesn’t want to govern. He doesn’t want to learn. He wants to campaign and look good.

Republicans know this. So there are battles going on right now to take control of the actual process of governing.

1) chimps DO develop cancer.

2) Chimps have different expression of tumor suppressor genes.

3) chimps have different length of telomeres—“caps” that protect DNA.

4) chimps live to ~40 years. Median age of cancer in humans is 61.

Oh — and humans are NOT chimps.

Hope this helps! 🙃
