I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

Playing around with a close-up B&W edit of the best footage I have ever captured on this Earth. Hoping compression doesn't prevent y'all from seeing the incredible rain of debris.

Final vote. 50-50. VP breaks the tie.

One single GOP Senator could have stopped this abomination. Saved millions of parents from watching their child go hungry. Saved the lives destroyed when Medicaid disappears.

They will all live forever with the horror of this bill.

In Japan, nearly 40% of the workforce is stuck in non-regular jobs—part-time, temp gigs. They make barely half of what the lifers earn. Overwork is chronic; dating: no time or energy for it. Overworked, underpaid, and romantically bankrupt.

BREAKING: A few minutes ago, a vehicle of three people was rammed by a truck belonging to federal immigration authorities in Boyle Heights, CA. According to security footage shown to me, they deployed chemical munitions & detained the driver at gunpoint. All are US citizens according to the wife.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

Thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to leave a glowing review for the Tokyo Noir audiobook on Apple Books—I really appreciate it.

If anyone in the UK has had trouble downloading it, please let me know so I can make sure the issue gets sorted.

Medicare for All isn't radical.

What's radical is that we are the only major country not to guarantee health care as a human right.

Don’t believe me?

The sinkhole that emerged in Saitama Prefecture earlier this year is a warning that all levels of government must coordinate to upgrade Japan's aging infrastructure.
That sinking feeling: Japan’s aging sewers are an infrastructure time bomb
A tragic accident in Saitama shows how aging pipes, soft soil and climate threats are straining the country’s infrastructure.

Last year the Japanese variety show Gaki no Tsukai had the famous singer Yoko Takahashi go undercover at a restaurant where she fooled everyone right up until she took the stage and belted out A Cruel Angel's Thesis, the intro song to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Just stunning.

Our nation continues to face a crisis of trust - and all of us can and must take action to change that.
