We need a new economic system to address global sustainable development, poverty, climate change, etc. And it needs a healthy dose of global cooperation. Economic democracy. Some socialism. Some degrowth in developed countries. Cooperatives and trusts. Debt free money. Drawdown of Carbon. Etc……….

The real issue isn’t left vs right.
It’s not white vs black.
It’s not citizen vs immigrant.
It’s not gay vs straight.
The real issue is that a lot of powerful people have a vested interest — and a lot of money invested — in dividing us, and it’s working.

We need to understand that this puts us in an extremely dangerous situation. Keep in mind that these investment firms control the surplus that *we* collectively produce. And yet, we have zero say over how it is invested. Instead, our ruling classes invest it in whatever is most profitable to them.

I’m interested in alternative economic concepts like mutualism, georgism, participatory economics, E democracy and market socialism. We need an alternative to both capitalism and central planning. I kind of prefer markets but think some democratic planning would be good too. Anyone else?

They stood up not only for themselves but an entire global industry of workers who are being exploited and having their wages stolen by their employers.

While I hate Newsmax, putting our faith in privately owned electronic voting machines is a bad idea. There was something seriously wrong with the 2004 presidential election where exit polls did not match results. Some 2002 Senate elections were suspicious. 2002 was first use of e voting machines.

Tax dollars for k-12 education should only go to public schools. No vouchers. No charters. And yes, many of our public schools have significant issues and our education system needs an overhaul, but subsidizing private education and defunding public education is not the answer.

Sometimes I think we need to start pursuing geoengineering to address climate change. I think it’s a terrible idea, but we are running short on time. There is CO2 removal by ocean fertilization. And Glacial geoengineering, protecting the poles. And Solar radiation management. All very dangerous.
