HAPPY NANOWRIMO!!!*

So excited to actually have both time AND spoons to start this month!! (Whoa. BOTH. Just whoa)

My plan is to do either 1500+ words a day or two hours in The Chair, so feel free to hit me up for word sprints & pomodoros!

*Or #ToNoWriMo, in my case

Small victory of the day: after two rejections came in this weekend, I planted myself in the chair this morning (despite DST) and sent out SIX submissions. Now for lunch and a walk in the plus-five sunshine.

There's a rumour going around that the NaNoWriMo website will be shutting down soon; whether it's true or not, now's a good time to mention TrackBear.app. You set up projects & track progress & import your NaNo data.

I just discovered that one (me, i am the one) can just *download* WordPad and reinstall it after the Windows 11 upgrade deleted it. It is a smol thing, sure, in these days of anxiety and dread, but it makes me v v happy.

Welcome back WordPad I missed you

Spent months worrying about edits I needed to do, weeks of building it up in my head as Hours of Work, finally had the space and time to lock myself in my office today to EITHER FINISH THE EDITS or have MY BRAIN LEAK OUT MY NOSE.

Anyway, I'm done, it took less than two hours.

As authors, we always talk about the things we hate about our writing. But today I want you to tell me the one thing you love about your writing. What is the one thing that you do really well?

This spells out something I'd noticed happening in fiction but couldn't articulate. (I would add that TV/film *plots* have taken over fiction as well, which drives me nuts, but a whole article in and of itself.)

I have a purse I love the pattern of, but the pleather has been slowly disintegrating over the years. I replaced the handles but the trim is going now.

Out hunting for anti-trans graffiti & stickers on the #MartinGoodmanTrail today

So far we've found eight pieces of hate speech between King & Lakeshore on Dufferin alone.
