Welp, after years of planning, pots of dedicated funding, promises that despite other elements getting yanked from the plans that sidewalk repairs were still on the table, the only sidewalk on LWB that got repaved this year was the segment right in front of Bruce's house.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

we're facing a massive structural budget deficit that requires stealing 100s of million$ in housing funds every year, an historic homelessness & affordability crisis, steady rise in traffic deaths, & they're busy going after graffiti, boobs & tacos (3 of the best things btw)

“The attacks on Wilson instead appear to be backfiring completely and are further eroding Mayor Harrell’s standing with the Seattle electorate…Harrell had a nine point negative spread in July; this month, he has a sixteen point negative spread.”

Low snow? Who knows, if Northwest’s snowpack monitoring gets cut.
Snow or no? Northwest’s water outlook gets murky with federal cuts
Agencies that keep tabs on Northwest rivers and snowpack have been shedding scientists under the Trump administration.

This would also improve safety for all modes by preventing parked cars from blocking sightlines at intersections. Love it!
Seattle could meet its 30% tree canopy goal much quicker by converting a quarter of its 500,000 on-street parking spaces. The paving-to-planting conversion would convey many benefits, cooling neighborhoods and absorbing runoff.
