With the rate it’s going it’s going to self cannibalize soon. There’s only so many Van Goghs but there’s a horde of AI slop Van Goghs that will eventually overtake it. Where does it go from there?
I understand that AI tech has value in fields like medicine (I'm skeptical of the way it's being used in, say, archeology), but I can't imagine a piece of writing/art/music that an AI spits out having a remotely equivalent value (however you define value) to the data it used to produce those results

Last week I got lucky and found a complete “Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz” on vinyl, for $20. All 6 LPs and the extensive liner notes. Not as comprehensive as it claims to be but a lot of fun stuff in one set for sure.
