@npr.org for every minute spent talking to a non-autistic person about autistic people's needs, you should be giving at least 2x that amount to actually autistic people— & not just in written stories, but on-air.

Apply said rubric to any other group under attack right now for their lived realities.

Fellow authors, I love you, and I know it feels like we don’t have a choice, but B&N and Am*zon both scheduled sales this week to preempt Independent Bookstore Day, a hugely vital source of income for indie bookstores. Please don’t promote their sales; please promote your local indie this week.

MY LITTLE GOLDEN BOOK ABOUT PRIDE comes out today and I'm feeling extremely Ralph Wiggum "I'm in danger" about it. It's beautiful though and I love it no matter what they say

If I were an elected Dem today, here’s what I’d be doing:

- Not cooperating with anything administration wants to do. No bailing the GOP out. Shut it down.

- Daily fireside chats explaining how/why I’m fighting.

- Calling them fash.

- Attending protests. Calling for protests (at their homes?)

I’m sorry but this isn’t getting enough attention.

When RFK Jr. was asked about a young child who died of measles in Texas, he responded “It's not unusual. We have measles outbreaks all the time.”

This is the first Measles death in the US in 10 years.

Medicaid is not for sale.
NASA is not for sale.
The Post Office is not for sale.
America is not for sale.

We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

The USPS goes any and everywhere and can have your package in the recipient's hands within 3 days in the continental US. It runs on weekends. It handles Amazon's volume. It does this all for pennies compared to other services. So many rely on the USPS for meds and business. We need the USPS.

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”.

This is a manifesto against disability.

This is the language of eugenics.

I know this is false because every time I forget not to use Google AI search, it’s wrong.
If you have zero education, but learn how to ask AI models the right questions , in many jobs you will be able to outperform someone with an advanced degree, but who is unwilling to use Large Language Models.

Just takes a smartphone, curiosity to experiment and a mindset to learn.

The Washpost, which is bleeding millions of dollars and shrinking its staff, accepted -- and then rejected -- a $115,000 ad that criticized Elon Musk.

Anyway, here's the ad that the Post's business side didn't want its readers to see ⤵️

I've been thinking a lot about how READING is also a political act, and the necessary completion of the circuit. So many people have shouted from the rooftops quotations from books on autocracy, fascism, social psychology, history, recent events (I shouted about THE FIFTH RISK by Michael Lewis).
This is your reminder that writing is a political action.

Right. Here's your to-do list for the next two months to put you in the best possible position to survive what's coming:

1. Renew your passport (or apply for a passport) this week even if it is not expiring in the next four years. Renewing early will give you the maximum 10-year validity period.

Elda Minger was the first romance novelist to put condom use on the page. When we spoke to her about the choice she made, she told us about the realities of the world before Roe, when abortion was neither safe nor legal.
