Medicaid coverage has had a lot of unintended consequences for the trans community - induced demand, over-prescribing, regret rates, extremism, misinformation, etc. Some of the stories of sterilizing procedures given to drug addicts who later sober up are gut wrenching.

:sigh: This is the type of mediocre reasoning that happens when we frame things in sexology categories. ‘Cis’ children don’t access puberty blockers via ‘affirming’ care models; they do so primarily for precocious puberty, and there are many known side-effects.

Yesish, they are coming for certain forms of ‘private transitional care’. Speaking as someone who has been a hospital administrator and worked for CMS, they’re coming after providers who followed WPATH SOC8 in particular. And GenderGP was at the vanguard of SOC8 advocacy.

Both trans activists and SEGM activists have egregiously cherry-picked evidence and misrepresented the extent to which evidence supports their position. This will be a cultural learning lesson for both sides.

This was entirely predictable. The Bishops ruling on GAC procedures in the Roman Catholic Hospitals was the beginning of a multi-front effort by the Church to weigh in on gender politics.

My most hopeful interpretation of the current moment is that this is a rehash of the Chicago-Atlantic City mob wars, ala Boardwalk Empire. Literally, Trump’s father would have been a contemporary of Nucky Thompson (Atlantic City) who was in a mob war with Al Capone, etc.

the point of the ballroom obvs has nothing to do with aesthetics. it's to create an architectural structure to honor the patronage networks that currently dominate US politics. previous WH venues hosted maybe a couple of hundred people; this hosts nearly 1,000 rich donors.

Sorry, I’m an elder in the community and think queer politics has basically hijacked the LGBTI coalition community bus, and driven it off a cliff. We need to get back to what worked in the past. We tried queer politics, and it’s racking up loss after loss.
