~Professional news~: I'm going to be taking over the investigative beat at @nyc.streetsblog.org in the new year. I'm really stoked for the opportunity and my DMs are open for ideas.

(Yes, my Marron paper will be finished! No, I'm not putting this news out as yet another way to procrastinate!)

The author of this piece, @geauxgabrielle.bsky.social, said the governor was so upset he contacted Essence to try to get it pulled offline.

That's how you know it's a must read.

One time I was riding bikes with Katie on the Rockaway boardwalk and a lady going the other direction started screaming “Katie Katie congratulations on your new job!”

Fun fact: when the media use the word "contrarian," what they actually mean is "person who is wrong about everything in exchange for money."

New Yorkers have still not grappled with the extent of Governor Cuomo’s corruption and abuse, and how many powerful players in state politics aided him in his efforts to retaliate against women. A scandal that our tax dollars were used for this misogynist harassment.

I feel it's even worse. Many Trump critics were mocked by Democrats for years as paranoid. Scandals that were not just fact but foreshadowing were treated as conspiracy theories. In place of civic engagement—intense interest in a gathering national emergency—many offered snark and cool indifference.
Look, imma be honest.

As a black woman and as a journalist, I’m pissed off at libs/dems.

Trump has been who he was for *ten* years. Many of us wrote, warned and screamed about people who would literally die due to misogyny and white supremacy.

A lot of yall did not not listen. Now here we are.
