I often say it, but the first theatrical release is the infancy of a movie. Too many folks SWEAR by it, and box office grosses at that, when the movie has an entire second life to live. A forever one, not less than a year playing at multiplexes lol.

It is interesting to consider that some of the most beloved cinematic classics were either a modest success back in their day or underperformed at the box office.
Thanks to home media and even television broadcasts, they became re-evaluated and garnered the classic status that they have today.
