Many have asked how it could cost $17.5 million to confine just over 100 unhoused people to a warehouse for 90 days.

The answer? The company running the facility got a no-bid contract and has political ties to Louisiana governor Jeff Landry—who invoked emergency powers to detain these men and women

There is no place for such claims in medicine. Racial categories are not biologically real to start with. Every time these claims have been made, they have been made to support under-treatment and suffering of minority groups.
Saying “African Americans respond differently to vaccines” follows the same sentiment as “African Americans feel less pain.” It is racist, unsupported by any credible evidence, and endangers the lives of millions of Americans. Please. Call you senators.

This will not be the only disaster with continued Trump assaults on the federal workforce.
Pete Hegseth has probably never heard of a USAF Combat Controller before (CCT), but they are FAA certified air traffic controllers. If he wanted to gain some public trust, he could study up and quickly deploy them to civilian airports to "guard the skies" while the FAA gets its shit together.

After this guy rather notably drove a large boat into an iceberg, we didn’t as a society declare boat captaincy off limits for white men. But somehow air tragedies must have a woman or BIPOC person to scapegoat somewhere. I would like to think most people know BS when they hear it.

Our country has a history of creating concentration camps from the deadly forcible confinement of American Indians through that of Japanese-American citizens that most Americans now see as travesties. We don’t need to go down this path again.

During World War II, the U.S. government forcibly took hundreds of thousands of people of Japanese ancestry from their homes and held them in incarceration camps.

Fred Korematsu was arrested and convicted for defying the government’s order and refusing to go to the camps.
