I don't think this is always true, but when paired with political inaction, it often is.
a large undercurrent in Social Media Leftism is a desire to see Dems as Bad Actually. sometimes this is out of barely-concealed support for republicans (greenwald types), sometimes it's just desire for absolution from political responsibility. no need to follow the rules if the game can't be won
