To be clear, I don't use Claude (or any other "AI"/LLM) for any part of my writing process, either for personal or commercial work. I check in on them on a fairly regular basis to see how the latest iterations function, so I can understand the state of the field and speak non-ignorantly about it.

Tech Companies: Our new phones perform exactly the same and look exactly the same, but they have those AI features that annoy you every time you come across them. Also it costs $1,500.

I've got no beef with 1-24, though I'd swap U2 and the Beach Boys. For 25-50 they made some... choices.

I mean... I'm not mad about it.
I teased this last night in What I’m Hearing but now confirmed: Paramount WILL release Rush Hour 4 after prodding from Trump on behalf of Brett Ratner. Distribution deal. Producer Tarak Ben Ammar is lining up financing. Get ready for the dumbest possible state-controlled media.

I've always wanted to see this movie.
True story Kim Jong Il had his favorite S Korean director and actress kidnapped and forced them to make a N Korean version of Godzilla called Pulgasari that has a giant subplot about peasants giving up their cookware as a sacrifice to the nation.

Airplane, which is by a wide margin the funniest movie of all time, is at 62. Who in god’s name made this list?
The movie listed at #1 is so incredibly misplaced that it calls into question the veracity of the entire list. It belongs on the list, yes, but SO MUCH further down. An absolute, credibility-wrecking flub. Boo, @variety.com! Boo!

My only objection is that Rise of Skywalker, or really pretty much any movie, is better than Phantom Menace. I don't care that the TV shows rehabilitated it, that movie is a top-to-bottom disaster.
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

Instead of investing in workers, Starbucks is on a spending spree - notably, on Niccol’s sky-high compensation, his satellite office away from HQ, & a private jet to commute from California to Seattle.

Dude flew 39 combat missions and went to space four times, I’m not sure that’s the fight I’d pick. Like, I know not every astronaut is Buzz Aldrin, but enough are impressively tough that I’d think twice just in case.

My grandfather grew up Dickensian- street- urchin- poor on the streets in Manhattan; fought in WWII; and then got a good union civil service job that allowed him to retire after 30 years with a pension at age 61. The loss of that historic connection is a problem now.
I feel like a lot of us were privileged to be among the last generation to be able to learn under the 60's civil rights generation. What im seeing today from this newer generation of children is a serious lack of grounding, which i think is due to them not having direct access to the type of
