If you stand for truth, peace and justice in this world then it’s important not to make your happiness dependent on large-scale wins.
Because the deck is stacked so heavily against truth, peace and justice, your side will experience far more losses than wins.

This keeps on happening.

Decades of research showing that helping people… helps people… and that helping people… improves their lives which… wait for it… is good for society.

And yet you open the tv and watch any political debate and it’s all about how to ‘cut down costs’
Kinda hard to believe that helping people resolve their financial situations seems to help them resolve their financial situations... but ok. Sure. Shocking, but true.
Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Green & left parties, which argued instead for spending the funds on transit & active mobility, successfully campaigned against the measure.
