Today, thousands of people came out to events all across NYC—picking up and handing out materials to defend their neighborhoods from ICE. There were whistles kits & know your rights cards. University of Toronto professor and fascism expert Jason Stanley warns that "we are now a country where you have to bring your papers around." Furthermore, Stanley says that "if you instill fear in Black and brown citizens that they will have this interaction with ICE, they're much less likely to show up" to vote or participate in civic life.

I don’t care whether a politician identifies as “moderate,” “conservative,” “progressive,” or anything. What I care about is whether they faithfully represent citizens rather than donors. And if they don’t up to make health care affordable for all, they aren’t doing that.

Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
