Covid killed more Americans in less time than WW1 did British soldiers, but there’s a memorial in every British village and this is the first I have seen in America.
This is a first for me: an actual, honest to cod COVID memorial in the park by my parents' house.

Personally I think the whole Democratic caucus should have walked out when Al Green was thrown out
We just walked out of the state of the Union. My shirt showed Trump an important message: NO KINGS LIVE HERE.

ironically this also makes me less annoyed with the members of House Dem rank-and-file who did protest. I thought the protests were generally weak but if even silent disruptions are disobeying leadership I gotta give some credit.
Rashida Tlaib's whiteboard, Dave Min's pocket Constitution, and Jasmine Crockett's T-shirt were all, apparently, against the advice of Hakeem Jeffries, not to mention the actual walkouts and heckling

I do not understand why people still act like Russiagate wasn’t real. They were organizing meetings. Trump literally asked them to hack the Russians on TV. Mike Flynn got busted by the FBI. I get that the press downplays because it is because they willingly and knowingly amplified a Russian op.

the bad guys have already figured out Spanish, and for that matter I don't just mean the political right—scammers and predatory finance get away with murder against Spanish speakers because regulatory agencies don't have enough Spanish speakers on staff to give it the same close eye as English stuff
the way the American left and center-left neglect Spanish isn't as bad as it would be for, say, a Canadian party to neglect French, but it is still a rather serious self-inflicted wound
and goddammit do interviews with Spanish-language media, hire an interpreter if you have to. the first language of one in every ten adult US citizens is Spanish!

This was the moment, just over a month ago, when the ADL could've put an end to Republicans doing Nazi salutes. They didn't. They chose instead to provide cover by calling it "an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm." Now the sieg heil salute has been normalized.
