The reason for stressing that it did not happen is less to exonerate Hamas than it is to establish that there's nothing Israel won't lie about to justify mass murder.
Whether or not Hamas sexually assaulted people has no bearing on whether Palestinian children deserve to die and it’s weird to hear people who both do and don’t believe they did seemingly both making that argument
