In this moment where Trump’s actions and the medias morbid fixation on him now has half the country “doomscrolling”- I think it is time to think about “Critical Ignoring” as a new skill.

Good news! Congestion pricing has done no harm to Broadway shows and may even be slightly positive:

Wind in their Sales: Congestion Pricing is No 'Toll' on the Broadway Box Office - Streetsblog New York City
Despite doom prognostications, congestion pricing has not hurt Broadway's bottom line a bit — and, in fact, may be boasting it.

This is really cool data
Did you know? 🚲 In NYC, every extra mile of protected bike lanes leads to 1,100 more daily bike trips.

Proof that when we build safe streets, more people ride!

I really want to make a master list of all these projects because fear of losing business seems like the most common objection to new bike lanes- but it’s usually a false fear.
They built a bike lane on a commercial street in Québec city and guess what happened to sales? Yes, like everywhere else, revenues went UP (by 10%). Car trafic is down by 35% and evaporated (not diverted to side streets). More pedestrians and more bikes. www.journaldequebec.com/2024/12/10/p...

This is news to me and really great news! It looks like 1990 was an inflection point. Just goes to show, you often don’t see the good changes at first when they start happening.
Americans are now one-third less likely to die from cancer at the same ages as Americans in 1990

Critical Mass is being organized for this Friday. Plan is to leave High Park at 6:30. Join us and put rubber to road in opposition to Bill 212 and efforts to take out our bike lanes. The fight starts now.
