Montreal has been THE North American model of smart, strategic street transformations into people-places. Each year has seen ambitious new moves that build on the years before — incremental, but NOT “slow” because they’ve been making big moves step-by-step.

Permanent Ste Catherine is a GREAT move.

The U.S is the wealthiest country in the history of the world. We should not have the highest rate of child poverty of nearly every major country on earth. We should have the lowest.

It's time to end this international embarrassment & create an economy that works for all.

The UCP's policies are benefiting investors/donors and hurting everyone else.
"the average cost of outsourced procedures nearly doubled, while wait times jumped for priority procedures, such as cancer surgeries, which are only performed in the public system."

Our for-profit health care system is not only broken & cruel, it's extremely wasteful.

While we spend billions on stock buybacks, CEO compensation & denying needed care, Medicare for All would save $650 billion & 68,000 lives a year per CBO & Yale University. Let's get it done.

... and the US health care system costs TWICE as much per capita as the Canadian system. The wonders of private health care.
The United States of America is the only major country on earth that does not guarantee health care as a human right.

The result: We rank dead last among wealthy nations in life expectancy.

We must end that international embarrassment.

Yes. We need Medicare for All.

In 2019, the UCP muzzled the voice of the Chief Medical Officer of health, and today there are outbreaks of measles and syphilis all across Alberta.

When will the UCP return to transparency and allow the CMOH to speak freely to the public?

US corn to ethanol
36m hectares corn harvested
40% to corn ethanol
2023 corn production 387 million tonnes (~12t/ha)
Ethanol production ~58.3 billion litres
Energy from corn ethanol 342TWh

~275 GW would cover <1% 334,000 ha
Electricity from solar 482TWh

1% of land used for solar yields more energy
Better to farm solar for energy
than to farm crops to use for biofuels

Far better

1 hectare annual yield:

2t soy bean
➡️ 800 litres biodiesel ➡️ 8.29 MWh

70t sugar cane
➡️ 7000 litres ethanol ➡️ 57.5 MWh

600 kW solar
➡️ ➡️ 900 MWh (low estimate)
