I think it might be a requirement to be an NYU manager that you must be spineless. Maybe there's an x-ray portion of the interview or something to ensure all managers have no spine. idk

In what way does Cuomo differ from a Republican at this point
So here's Andrew Cuomo reacting to Maria Bartiromo wondering if Mamdani will "change the look of New York" and have Muslim women "completely covered up," telling her that Mamdani "doesn't understand New York culture" because he has "dual citizenship" and "he's a citizen of Uganda."

Well like I said the other day, all of these "Haha let's remember Eric Adams, a true original with some funny quotes" appreciation stories and posts were coming with way too much time on the clock. Get this guy OUTTA here
Eric Adams, endorsing Cuomo: "New York can't be Europe, folks ... Those Islamic extremisms that are burning churches in Nigeria, that are destroying communities in Germany, that have taken over the logical thinkings. And that's what I'm fighting for."

Getting a nazi tattoo 20 years ago is a display of extremely poor judgment. Not getting that shit covered up or removed is a display of equally poor judgment every single day since.

I've been tasked with learning Teen Patti for an upcoming Diwali party and it absolutely rules that the only good resources on it are in Hindi. I'm watching videos where I understand maybe 30% and comparing that to incomplete text explanations to make sense out of the game. Unironically a blast.

Like on top of impeccable messaging, perfect policy, and beautifully shot campaign ads, the Zohran campaign is just creative as hell. Drives excitement like I've never seen in my adult life.
Andrew, we're voting you off the island and back to the suburbs.

Our new ad just aired during Survivor.

It's two sides of the same coin that 1) the Trump team is shocked and angry at the protests for not being what they envisioned, and 2) the MAGA movement lives in a reality created out of whole cloth that only exists because Fox/OANN/TruthSocial beam it directly into their brains.
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

MAGA Rage at “No Kings” Boils Over—and It Quickly Backfires on Trump
As Trump allies smear the coming protests, a good writer on MAGA skewers the absurdity of these attacks on large swaths of Americans—and explains why our best recourse will be to turn out in force.

On second thought, there is a limit to this
One of the neat things about unions is they have all sorts of people with all sorts of backgrounds and goals and opinions. I'm very thankful to be in leadership of a union that cares deeply enough to argue!

Scoop: Mamdani ally weighs challenging Hakeem Jeffries
Just talking about a potential campaign could drive a further wedge between Mamdani — the democratic socialist in line to be New York's next mayor — and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.)

A key metric for a progressive organization should be how it treats its staff. Can't destroy the master's house with the master's union busting. 🤷🏾‍♀️

My first night in NYC 10 years ago, I walked through SoHo, saw Orthodox Jews, overheard a South Asian language, and ate at a kebab cart, all for the first time. This was the most amazing experience I ever had as an 18 year old from Spokane, Washington. I knew instantly I wanted to live here forever.
I love living in a city full of immigrants and tons and tons of people who are not at all like me and not like each other. It makes us all better and it makes our city better. I know I’m preaching to the choir by saying this on the lib app but I sometimes just get so overwhelmed by how special it is

Of all the grunt divisions to send, the 82nd is probably the least likely to follow illegal orders since a huge chunk were SF burnouts who got humbled during selection. Not saying these guys will definitely defy orders but they're a cut smarter than your average GI.
The messages show high-level officials in the Trump administration discussing the possible deployment of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, an infantry force that has dropped into combat zones in both World Wars, Vietnam and Afghanistan.
Trump officials discussed sending elite Army division to Portland, text messages show
A high-ranking White House official was indiscreetly texting about the Portland, Ore., planning last weekend, according to messages shared with the Minnesota Star Tribune.

A couple of years ago I read a piece on how "get that bag" culture has allowed celebrities (both universal and niche alike) to abandon all sense of morality or duty to their fans, and, ironically, those very fans are the ones who champion that culture. This may have pushed that too far.
