Have dealt with safety critical systems my entire career. Traffic lights not working is an extremely obvious edge case, one human drivers are taught to deal with. We have rules about it.

Male to female and female to male trans folk spend our lives feeling like we are trapped in the wrong bodies.
Our brains are wired for a different anatomy than what we were born with. It's very uncomfortable, like being a round peg shoved into a square hole.
