When microtransactions became a widespread thing, there was all sorts of apologia as to why it was fine and good actually, even in singleplayer games, and like what are you gonna do? Not play those games? Turns out yes, I can and did do just that. AI is certainly more pernicious, but still. Fuck it!
So look man if we're just gonna be online here watching all these big studios come out and lay down on the tracks about Gen AI going "I have to do this for some reason." then I think it's more important than ever to celebrate games from based devs who are out here openly posting "Nuh uh, fuck that."

Honestly there was a moment when it was like damn I wanted to play that thing but they used ai so fuck supporting that. Now though? You hear they used it in any way and it genuinely just kills my desire to interact with the thing or the people. Really noticed that with the Larian game.
